She was born Amber Denise Streeter, but everyone can call her Sevyn. The Florida native grew up singing in church and talent shows. By age 5, she knew she wanted to be a professional singer, and nothing was going to stand in her way. By age 10, she was competing on Showtime at the Apollo, tying for first place by singing “My Funny Valentine.” At age 9, she was signed to her first record deal, performing in the girl group TG4 (Tom Girls 4). After TG4 disbanded, she signed with Rich Harrison and rebranded herself as “Se7en.” She was a member of the RichCraft label’s group, RichGirl. The band’s life was short-lived. They released a mixtape in 2011, and disbanded afterward. In 2012, she signed with Chris Brown’s CBE imprint. In 2016, she released the lead single from her debut studio album, Girl Disrupted. It would be released in 2017, and it reached no. 92 on the Billboard 200. Though she released a song in 2018, it was relatively quiet until the tail-end of 2019, when she came roaring back with ‘WHATCHUSAY.’
