DAVID and Louise Turpin are accused of torturing and abusing their children – who were allegedly found shackled and starved at their home.
The couple’s eldest child, aged 29, weighed only 82 pounds when she was found at the house in southern California.

This means that the Turpin’s 29-year-old daughter weighed just over five-and-a-half stone when she was found at their home in Perris, Riverside County.
One of the younger children who was aged 12 was the weight of a typical seven-year-old, prosecutors said.
The children were deprived of food, while their parents ate well and even tormented the kids by leaving apple and pumpkin pies on the kitchen counter, but not letting them have any, authorities claim.
The torture and false imprisonment charges do not include the two-year-old, who was not malnourished.
David Turpin, 56, and his wife Louise, 49, pleaded not guilty on January 18 to multiple counts of torture, child abuse, dependent adult abuse and false imprisonment.
Mr Turpin also pleaded not guilty to performing a lewd act on a child under age 14.
The 13 children, aged from 2 to 29, were allegedly starved and shackled to their beds, sometimes for months, prosecutors claim.
